Basic adult NDT course
For this three week Basic Course on the Assessment and Treatment of Adults
with Neurological Conditions, participants will be able to adapt and apply
appropriate theoretical principles of neurodevelopmental therapy (NDT) to the
individual patient within his/her environment. Participants will be taught
effective handling skills and how to utilise the principles of motor control,
motor learning, neural plasticity and muscle plasticity in their approach to
treatment.

Dysphagia management for
nursing
The management of dysphagia is critical for successful management of
patients with neurological dysfunction. Adequate nursing involvement and
competence should be part of institutions’ service development toward
effective management of adults with dysphagia and/ or at risk for aspiration
pneumonia. This course aims to equip nursing staff with skills for doing early
screening for swallowing problems in patients. Invaluable insights into
dysphagia diets/ liquid modifications and nurse interventions during mealtimes
will also be offered.
